About Embedded Dashboards #

The Embedded Dashboards module enables seamless integration of external web portals directly into the M-Files user interface.

Key features #

• Dynamic object-based dashboards: Configure dashboards that are displayed based on object types, classes, workflows, or other conditions.
• Persistent tabs: Define dashboards that are always visible in the M-Files interface, regardless of the object selected. Persistent tabs ensure that critical dashboards are never overridden unless explicitly configured.
• Flexible URL configuration: Choose between rich placeholder URLs with syntax highlighting and plain URLs that support the ‘%’ character.
• Customizable display rules: Intuitive configuration options allow precise control over when and where dashboards are shown, ensuring relevance and context for users.
• Seamless integration with external systems: Effortlessly connect to external web portals or applications, enabling a centralized view of business-critical data within M-Files.

Accessing Embedded Dashboards #

1. Open M-Files Admin.
2. In the left-side tree view, expand the desired connection to M-Files Server.
3. In the left-side tree view, expand the Document Vaults node.
4. Select the vault where the Embedded Dashboards module is installed and expand Configurations.
5. Expand Other Applications.
6. Expand Extension Kit.
7. Click on Embedded Dashboards.

Limitations #

Platform Restrictions – The Embedded Dashboards module is supported only in the new M-Files Web and the new M-Files Desktop clients.
